The SSIEM-DG invites submission of abstracts on Research in Dietetics and Inherited Metabolic Disorders to be considered for oral presentation at the 4th SSIEM-DG research VIRTUAL meeting for professionals, on Thursday, 28th May 2026.

About the
SSIEM-DG Research Meeting

The SSIEM-DG invites abstract submissions to be considered for oral presentation at the research meeting, focusing on: Dietetic Research in Inherited Metabolic Disorders (IMD). The meeting provides an opportunity for dietitians/nutritionists to present research, audit, service evaluation or interesting case studies. We particularly encourage those new to research to submit an abstract. Oral presentations will be a maximum of 15 minutes including time for questions.

 

The deadline for abstract submission is 21st April 2026. Presenting authors will be informed if accepted by 28th April 2026. Registration is mandatory before or at the time of abstract submission.  Registration link and abstract submission form please follow the link below. 

 

AIMS AND OBJECTIVES of the research meeting

  • Showcase nutrition and dietetic research in IMD through oral presentations.
  • Actively communicate research ideas and findings.
  • Interact and share ideas with new and established researchers.
  • Develop a foundation for cross-border collaboration research work.
  • Learn about latest research tools and technologies.

 

Meeting Registration & Fees

  • SSIEM members: no fee (must have paid a 2026 SSIEM membership fee prior to registration)
  • Non SSIEM members: 10 Euros
  • Students who are no SSIEM members: the fee will be waived if evidence is provided from the university of the student

Payment

The SSIEM admin office will send you all details regarding the payment after the registration.

Abstract Submission Guidelines

  • Abstracts can be novel research, audit, service evaluations or case studies.
  • Abstract body is limited to 2000 characters including spaces.
  • Structure of abstract should follow: Background, Case study/Methods, Results, Discussion/ Conclusions
  • Submitted abstracts must provide results and not announcements; stating that “Findings will be discussed…” or similar.
  • Non-standard abbreviations should be defined in text.
  • Drugs must be mentioned by generic names.
  • Conflicts of interest must be disclosed.

Declaration of sponsorship:
Any sponsorship or funding related to the study must be disclosed in the abstract. Authors should clearly state the source of financial support and any conflict of interest.

Declaration of AI use:
AI tools may only be used to improve the readability and language of the abstract. If used, authors must provide a statement in the submission process describing which tool was used and for what purpose. Generative AI is strictly prohibited for data analysis or the creation of scientific results.
